Astrolya ("we", "our", "the App") is operated by Astrolya.in. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using Astrolya, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

• Full name
• Date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth — required to calculate your Vedic astrological birth chart (Kundli). This is the core data the app's astrology features are built on.
• Gender — used to personalize predictions and reports.
• Phone number or email address — collected during sign-up/login, verified via a one-time password (OTP) through Firebase Authentication, or via Google Sign-In.
• Photos of your palm or face — only if you choose to use the Palm Reading or Face Reading features. These photos are analyzed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or any third party; only the resulting measurements are used to generate your reading.
• Questions or messages you send to astrologers or the AI chat feature.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and app usage information (e.g., app version, general diagnostic/crash data) to help us maintain and improve the app.
• Advertising identifiers and app interaction data, used by Google AdMob to display and measure ads shown in the app.
• Network status (used only to check connectivity before making requests — we do not track your precise location).

Astrolya does not request or access your device's precise location, contacts, SMS messages, or files.

1.3 Payment information

When you recharge your wallet or purchase a report, session, or feature unlock, payment is processed by Google Play Billing and, for certain features, RevenueCat (which manages purchase validation on our behalf). Astrolya does not collect, store, or have access to your credit card, debit card, or UPI details — these are handled entirely by Google Play and your payment provider.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Calculate your Vedic astrological birth chart and generate real, chart-based predictions, reports, and remedies.
• Provide live chat and call sessions with astrologers.
• Analyze palm/face photos on your device, if you use those features, and use the resulting measurements to generate a reading.
• Verify your identity via phone number/OTP or Google Sign-In.
• Process payments and maintain your wallet balance.
• Personalize content in your selected language.
• Show relevant ads and improve app stability (via crash and diagnostic data).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

Astrolya relies on the following third-party services, each of which processes limited data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

If you connect to third-party affiliate stores (AstroMall) to purchase gemstones, Rudraksha, or other spiritual products, you will be interacting with that partner's own checkout page and privacy policy (e.g., Rudra Centre, DevMarg, Giri) — Astrolya does not process or store payment details for these purchases.

4. Palm and Face Reading Photos

If you use the Palm Reading or Face Reading feature:

• Your photo is analyzed entirely on your device, using on-device machine learning. It is never uploaded to our servers or to any third party.
• Only the resulting measurements and category summaries (not the photo itself) are sent to our AI provider (Groq) to generate your written reading.
• We do not use these photos for facial recognition, identity verification, or any purpose other than generating the reading you requested.
• Your photo never leaves your device, and is not stored on our servers, shared with anyone, or used for any other purpose.

5. Data Retention

We retain your birth chart, profile information, and transaction history for as long as you maintain an account with us, so that your predictions remain personalized and your reports remain accessible. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7 and our Delete Account page).

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission of data between the app and our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate birth details or profile information.
• Delete your account and associated data — see our Delete Account page.
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time (note: this may limit or disable core app features, such as chart-based predictions).

8. Children's Privacy

Astrolya is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
